Oberdiebach

Our holiday house is located in a quiet valley in the heart of the romantic upper middle rhine area, a UNESCO world heritage site.  The location is ideal for trips to the many castles and sights in the rhine valley.  Oberdiebach is a small town with approximately 800 inhabitants, beautiful historic half-timbered houses, a bakery and one restaurant. The gotic church St. Mauritius, built 1330, is also worth a visit. Winegrowers offer the regional speciality - the Riesling wine. You can enjoy the many hiking paths and trails with wonderful views of the valleys, the ruin Fürstenberg and the rhine river.  The "Rheinburgen" hiking trails passes runs just next to our holiday home. A unique attraction is the hiking path to the exmoor-ponies which live in an open pasture landscape. For our little guests, there is a playground located close to the holiday home.

Sights close to the holiday house

About 2,5km from Oberdiebach is Bacharach with its historic old town. From here you have many options to discover the UNESCO world heritage site of the upper middle rhine valley. For example with a boat trip, seeing the many castles on the way to the famous Loreley. Or up the river to the cities of  Bingen or Rüdesheim.

You can enjoy bicycle trips along the beautiful bike path that runs next to the rhine river, seeing many sights along the way and resting on one of the nice beaches. The rhine valley also offers many hiking options with astonishing views. Close to our holiday home runs the "Rheinburgen" hiking trail and on the other side of the rhine river is the well-known"Rheinsteig" hiking trail.

The city of Bingen is a 15 minute car drive away. From here you can take a boat to the other side of the river to visit the wine city of Rümmelsheim with its famous Drosselgasse.

For families, there is the Hochwildschutzpark Hunsrück, a zoo, in 13km distance to the holiday house. Further, the 15km distant ropes course Kletterwald Lauschhütte will give your inner adventurer the adrenalin rush. Recreational baths are located 10-15km away from the holiday home. 

The famous fireworks spectacle "Rhein in Flammen" / "Rhine in flames" is taking place on varying locations in the middle rhine area from July to September.
